Green-Schools Projects

Green-Schools Projects are designed for schools that have completed all ten core Green-Schools themes. This phase of Green-Schools is grounded in active learning, critical thinking and inquiry-based learning, giving students an immersive and engaging opportunity to continue their sustainability journey through student-led projects. Schools select a one-year project from the options below. In the second year, schools revisit and maintain one of their previous Green-Schools themes as part of the Green Flag renewal process. For example, a school may complete Food Waste Detectives in Year 1 and then revisit its Litter and Waste theme in Year 2.

Here's how it works:
After schools successfully complete all TEN themes of the Green-Schools programme, they may move on to Green-Schools Projects (GSP).

Global Classrooms

This international linking project began in 2020 when Green-Schools joined forces with our colleagues and friends in Eco-Schools Kenya. The aim was to bring students from across the globe together to learn about, and act for the Global Goals. This project has now expanded to include other countries, connecting students creating positive change for the environment.
