The Teacher Guide contains five modules to work through with your class. They can be spread across a school term or compressed into one or two full project days, whichever suits your timetable. The first three modules are where children do the groundwork. They explore the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, choose the one that feels most urgent to them, and pick a character whose life is shaped by that goal. From there, they get to know their character properly and work out exactly what problem they want to solve. By the end of Module 3, each team has a clear problem statement and a character they genuinely care about.
The final two modules take children from thinking to making. Teams generate as many ideas as they can, choose the one they want to develop, and build a prototype to show how it would work. This could be a physical model, a campaign, a poster, a storyboard, or anything else that brings their solution to life. At the end, teams present to the class and to their Green-Schools Committee. Children can also connect their ideas to the wider school community, for example: - Green-Schools committees - Local councillors or community organisations - Parents, grandparents, or neighbours with relevant experience - Tidy Towns groups - Local businesses or services connected to their chosen goal.
