Over five modules, students learn about climate justice, take part in a Climate Summit debate, explore global, national and local impacts, develop a persona affected by a climate challenge, define a specific problem, generate and select a solution, and create and present a prototype or campaign.
The Teacher Pack contains five modules to work through with your class. We recommend completing the modules within one school term, in relatively quick succession, so that students can build on their learning from one module to the next. Each module follows a Design Thinking approach, helping students explore real-world problems and develop their own solutions to everyday challenges. The first three modules focus on helping students understand and investigate the issue of food waste.
The final two modules take students from ideas to action. Students will prototype their solutions and explore practical ways to adapt their ideas to everyday school life. Bringing these solutions to life is a team effort!
