We are excited to launch the Green-Schools Marine Spatial Planning Photography Competition 2026! This competition invites students across Ireland to share their vision for the future of our oceans and marine environments.
Open to secondary schools and youth groups working on the Global Citizenship Marine Environment theme in the 2026 – 2027 academic year, as well as those who have already achieved their Marine Flag, the competition provides a chance for young people to showcase their creativity and connection to the sea.
Under the theme “Sea Through Your Lens”, we’re asking individual students to submit photographs that reflect their hopes for our seas. Capture your personal connection to the ocean whether it’s celebrating life along the coast, exploring our rivers, or highlighting the plants and animals that depend on these waters. Think about how our ocean is used today, and how it could be cared for and shared in the future. Whether you live inland or by the sea, we want to see what the ocean means to you!

Deadline for entries: Friday, 20th November 2026
There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including:
- A €100 One4All voucher
- The winning photograph professionally framed
- An overnight stay in a hotel the night before the awards ceremony
- €250 for the winner’s Green-Schools Committee
