Walk for Water 2026

Walks for Water are an opportunity to connect with water in your local area this April. Taking place in the second half of the month (after Easter), these guided walks will be offered at 3–4 locations, depending on sign-ups.

Designed especially for school groups, Walks for Water brings together students and teachers from several schools to explore what can be seen, heard and felt in places near rivers, lakes or the coast. Each walk is organised and led by Green-Schools staff, and we will invite a local expert to share fascinating insights about the chosen location. Expect to walk a few kilometres (up to 5 km), spend meaningful time outdoors at a beautiful time of year and enjoy the option of bringing a picnic to make the most of the day. Green-Schools can contribute towards transport costs – just let us know your needs and we’ll do our best to support you. We’re currently finalising details for each location and will share more information closer to the date.
