Scoot to School Week 2024

Let's Get Scooting!

National Scoot to School Week will kick off on Monday, June 10th and will run through to Friday 14th, and National SOW (Scoot on Wednesdays/Weekdays) will be held on Wednesday 12th. Keep a record of how many students scooted to school on National SOW to be in with a chance of winning scooter prizes for your school. Complete the online competition form to ensure that your numbers are included in the count to see which school has the highest number of students scooting on SOW, the 12th of June. Schools can apply online through this link.

Please submit your SOW scores by Wednesday, 19 June to be in with a chance to win scooting spot prizes!

To support schools to participate in the week we have created a number of resources, providing a range of fun and engaging scooter related activities to suit all schools.

We also encourage schools to participate in the Scooter Obstacle Course Challenge as fun and interactive way for schools to get involved. Green-Schools Committees around the country are being set the challenge of designing an on-yard scooter obstacle course which include scooter skills and safety messages. Make it fun and be creative! Full details of the challenge can be found on the dedicated web page.

We are delighted to share that Micro Scooters have given us some wonderful spot prizes for our top scooting schools this year.

Micro Scooters are the brand renowned for designing and engineering simply the best kids scooters for the school run. They make it easy to get from A-B and build scooters to last which means your child can enjoy the world on wheels from their first steps to their first days (and beyond) at senior school.

Have a great Scoot to School Week and don’t forget to share your photos and news with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by tagging @GreenSchoolsIre and @TFIupdates, using #Scoot2SchoolWeek.
