We are delighted to launch the Green-Schools Marine Spatial Planning Photography Competition 2024.
The aim of this competition is to find out how the students of Ireland would like to see our ocean and marine environments being used in the future.
This competition is open to secondary schools working on the Global Citizenship Marine Environment theme in the 2024 – 2025 academic year, and those that have achieved their Marine flag already.
Under the theme “You, Me and Our Future Seas”, we are inviting individual students to enter photographs that depict their hopes for our seas in the future. We invite students to capture their connection with the oceans, celebrating life by the sea, our river connections and the plant and animals that live there. Consider how our ocean is used now, and how it could be used in the future. Showcase your talent whether you’re living on the coast, or inland. We want to see what the sea means to you!
The deadline for entries is Friday 22nd November 2024, and there are some fantastic prizes to be won, including a €200 One4All voucher, the winning photograph professionally framed, €500 for the winner’s Green-Schools Committee, and more!
Entries must be submitted through the online entry form at www.tinyurl.com/marinecomp. Entries must be accompanied by a short (50 – 100 word) description (see sample here), outlining the inspiration for the photograph and its relevance to the competition theme. Please not that teachers should submit entries on their students’ behalf, entering a maximum of ten entries per student (see full Terms & Conditions). If you have any questions related to competition, please contact marine@greenschoolsireland.org or phone 0871861242.
We hope you enjoy taking part in the competition and look forward to receiving your entries!
