Little Green Fingers Conference

The Green– Schools programme has partnered up with five organisations across Europe to pilot the Little Green Fingers project, an innovative educational program that integrates STEAM, environmental education, and design thinking.

This exciting project is coming to the end of its two year pilot which has involved schools across Ireland, Belgium, Serbia, Cyprus and the Netherlands. We are delighted to announce that the project will culminate in a final, online conference on Thursday, June 18th from 9am to 10am. Please complete our registration form to receive an invitation to this event. The form can be accessed here: Little Green Fingers Final Conference

During the event, we will hear from teachers around Europe who will share their experiences of the project, along with expert speakers and project organisers who will share some key results.

This initiative is part of the Erasmus+ project Little Green Fingers: Education for a Sustainable Future”, aimed at fostering environmental education and sustainable habits among children aged 4 to 8.

Little Green Fingers aims to empower children to co-create outdoor learning spaces where they can explore, play, and tackle real-world challenges such as nature conservation and biodiversity.

The program promotes environmental awareness while encouraging hands-on learning in nature. It also helps young children develop essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and digital literacy.

Two outstanding Irish schools that have been working with the Green-Schools programme for over 20 years, St Patricks Junior School, Skerries, Co. Dublin and Gaelscoil Raifteirí, Castlebar, Co. Mayo have completed the pilot project here in Ireland. These two schools did amazing work bringing together teachers, parents and community members to help bring their students ideas for new habitats for animals and play spaces for children to life.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
