A Powerful Kick-Off for Let’s Fix Fashion 2025–26

The Let’s Fix Fashion campaign is back for another exciting year, and what a start it’s been!
The new school year began with two inspiring events that set the tone for a year of creativity, learning, and action on sustainable fashion.

The first was the premiere of “Losing the Thread: The True Cost of Fast Fashion” on October 3rd at Dublin’s Lighthouse Cinema. This powerful documentary, a collaboration between Dublin’s four local authorities and funded by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, explores the real impact of fast fashion on people and the planet. Over 150 students from across Dublin attended the launch, taking part in activities and discussions that encouraged them to rethink how clothes are made, worn, and disposed of.

Our team member Danson joined the panel discussion at the event, where his storytelling and personal experiences resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring students to see how individual choices can drive collective change.

Following the premiere, the Let’s Fix Fashion team hosted an online live screening of the documentary for participating schools nationwide. The event featured an engaging discussion with our student ambassadors Sarah and Lily from Coláiste Muire, Cobh, alongside Arran Murphy from the Rediscovery Centre. Arran spoke passionately about “shopping in your own wardrobe,” creating capsule wardrobes, and finding creative ways to restyle and reuse clothing, valuable insights for anyone looking to make their fashion habits more sustainable. Learn how to create your own capsule wardrobe here.

We’re delighted that Arran will be joining us again in December for our Upcycling Webinar, where students will explore practical ways to repair and transform clothing. But first, on November 4th, we’ll be hosting our next webinar on Fast Fashion and Culture with Sheila Clancy from the Circular Dress Collective, exploring how fashion connects with identity, creativity, and global perspectives.

To support teachers and students throughout the campaign, we’ve also launched three brand-new classroom resources:

It’s been an inspiring start to Let’s Fix Fashion 2025–26, and we’re so excited for what’s ahead!

There’s still time to get involved! Register your school today to access free educational resources, live events, and a chance for your students to become part of Ireland’s movement for sustainable fashion.
