Green-Schools Marine Environment wins 3rd prize at the MakeEUBlue Awards!

Green-Schools Global Citizenship Marine Environment was recently awarded third place in the MakeEUBlue awards! This competition, which is organised by the EU4Ocean coalition and supported by the European Commission, aims to raise awareness about the importance of the ocean and encourage ocean literacy initiatives with long-term value. Green-Schools Marine theme was selected as one of four prize-winners from 54 applications across Europe, and was commended for the diversity of topics covered within the theme, its large scalability and replication potential, its inclusive character and how the theme fosters citizenship actions.

Green-Schools Officer, Chloe, was delighted to represent Green-Schools Marine team at the prize-giving ceremony which took place during the European Maritime Day celebrations in Cork on 23rd May. You can read more about the awards here.

Thank you to all our schools, students and teachers who help to protect the marine environment through their Green-Schools actions!
