Applications have now closed for the Marine Ambassador Programme 2022, applicants will be contact shortly. The role of the Ambassador School is to inspire, educate and be a leading example to other schools working on the Global Citizenship Marine Environment theme of Green-Schools. This year, we are looking for a motivated Secondary School Green-Schools Committee with enthusiasm and commitment to promote environmental action.

  • Become part of a group of talented and ambitious students with a passion for protecting our planet 
  • Engage with other Green-Schools across the country 
  • Gain hands-on experience with public speaking 
  • Receive a certificate of participation 
  • Gain new skills to add to your CV 

This year, the Marine Ambassador School will: 

  • Take part in an interactive training day   
  • Take part in a beach workshop (learn about coastal biodiversity, marine litter and carry out a beach clean) 
  • Be given access to environmental documentaries through the Marine Film Club 
  • Present to students at the National Marine Conference in April 2023  
  • Write an article for the Green-Schools newsletter and website 
  • Run a social media page that will be advertised to all schools working on the GC Marine Environment theme 
  • Take part in the Young Reporter’s for the Environment international environmental journalism competition 
  • Help create a video to celebrate Green-Schools 25th Anniversary 
The Green-Schools co-ordinators and/or support teachers will also receive simultaneous support and training.

The programme is open to all secondary schools working on the Global Citizenship Marine Environment theme in the 2022-2023 academic year. Applications have now closed for the Marine Ambassador Programme 2022, applicants will be contacted shortly.
