The YRE Competition gives a platform to students between the ages of 11 and 25 to report on environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity and pollution and articulate their solutions through journalistic content – articles, photo reportage or video content. Registration is free and allows for access to lunchtime skills based webinars between now and the end of the academic year as well as entry to the annual competition in March 2026. For Green Schools’ Coordinators, YRE works particularly well with Step 6 of the programme – Informing and involving across all of the themes.
