Water Ambassadors

Take Action, Save Water, Inspire Others

The Water Ambassador Programme empowers secondary school students to become water stewards in their own communities. Students will work alongside their peers to learn about key water issues, take effective actions to protect local water resources, and celebrate their collective impacts.

What Water Ambassadors do

Run student-led water conservation initiatives as a team

Participate in training, challenges

Learn about water conservation, water quality and Ireland's water systems.

Raise awareness and spark action across school and community.

Who can take part

  • Open to all secondary school students (1st-6th year). Schools that have been involved in the programme in previous years may apply again.
  • Working towards the Water flag is a bonus, not a must.

Ambassadors in Action

Schools across Ireland have taken part in the Water Ambassador Programme, with students leading inspiring projects in their schools and communities. From awareness campaigns and citizen science to creative events and local action, Water Ambassadors have made an impact across Ireland and beyond.
