Marine Ambassador Programme

Green-Schools Marine Team are excited to re-launch the Marine Ambassador Programme, in a shiny, new format!

This year, we are inviting students from secondary schools working on, or already awarded, the Global Citizenship Marine Environment flag, to apply to become Marine Ambassadors.

The successful Ambassadors will have the opportunity to take part in online training and webinars, where they will learn about issues impacting the oceans and coast, learn more about job opportunities in the marine sector and gain tips and tools to help them to take action to reduce plastic pollution within their school and wider community. Marine Ambassadors will get to virtually meet like-minded students from other schools and there may be the opportunity for Ambassadors to take part in an in-person event later in the year.

Marine Ambassadors will be expected to carry out an action within their school, and to report on their work twice throughout the year. There will be opportunities for them to meet other student ambassadors, and to get involved in our sister-programmes such as the “Let’s Fix Fashion” campaign and the “Young Reporters for the Environment” competition.

This is an exciting opportunity for secondary school students with an interest in the marine environment and a passion for making a difference to gain skills and knowledge.

Students can choose to apply as individuals or to work in groups of up to six. Students must have the support of a teacher within their school to take part.

Apply through the form below by Tuesday, 30th September! If you have any questions, you can email the Marine team at marine@greenschoolsireland.org

We can’t wait to have you on board! 😊
