Scoot to School Week 2022
National Scoot to School Week is a celebration of scooting to school and has been enjoyed by primary schools on the Green-Schools Programme since 2015. There are multiple environmental and health benefits to scooting to school, but most importantly scooting is one of the most enjoyable ways for primary students to get to school.
This year, National Scoot to School Week will kick off on Monday, March 7th and will run through to Friday 11th, and National SOW Day (Scoot on Wednesdays/Weekdays) will be held on Wednesday March 9th. Green-Schools would like to invite all primary schools currently on Travel and Global Citizenship Travel to participate in National Scoot to School Week. Schools who have already been awarded the Travel flag are also welcome to participate in the initiative and are invited to enter the competition to see which school has the highest number of students scooting on National SOW.
Remember to keep a record of how many students scooted to school on National SOW Day. Simply complete and submit the entry form to ensure that your numbers are included in the count and to be in with a chance of winning scooter prizes for your school.
Scooter events and workshops will be taking place across schools nationwide. Please contact the Green-Schools Travel Team on travel@greenschoolsireland.org or your local Green-Schools Travel Officer with any enquiries.
