Marine Week

The highlight of the GC Marine year is Marine Week!

This is a week-long event which invites schools all over the country to learn about and celebrate the ocean and coast. We will have a full schedule of live online events and brand new resources for schools to avail of, and some participants will have the chance to take part in our in-person National Marine Environment Conference – where schools will display their marine projects and learn from each other. Marine Week 2026 will take place from Monday 20th – Friday 24th April, and we encourage everyone to take part!

    Webinar: Climate Change and our Breeding Waders

    Celebrate Science Week with an interactive webinar on our wonderful wading birds! Led by Alena Kunkel from Breeding Waders EIP, this lunchtime webinar will focus on species like curlew, dunlin and oystercatcher and how they are being impacted by climate change. We’ll also take a look at the projects in place to protect them. This webinar is aimed at secondary and third-level students. Sign up for the webinar!
