• The Environmental Education Unit (EEU) of An Taisce is the national operator of a number of highly successful environmental education and management programmes such as Green-Schools, Blue Flag, National Spring Clean, Clean Coasts and Neat Streets.
  • The Green-Schools Travel programme operates on a national basis and encourages sustainable travel to school and is the largest programme operated by the EEU. The programme, which is funded by the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport (DTTS) and supported by the National Transport Authority (NTA), has been running nationally since 2008 and in the Greater Dublin Area since 2005.

The EEU is currently seeking applications for three roles:

(1) We are now recruiting One Full Time Travel Officer to be located in the South East Region (Wexford) and home worked. The post will be full-time for a period of twelve months from October 2019, with provision for extension until 2022. The post will be 32.75 hours per week but a degree of flexibility of working hours around evenings and weekends will be expected.

(2) The EEU is recruiting for a Communications Officer to work on specific environmental programmes and campaigns. A great opportunity exists for a dynamic individual who would enjoy the challenge of working across various programmes, to develop and implement effective communication strategies with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work with the existing communications team and report to senior management.

(3) The EEU is recruiting for a dynamic individual who would enjoy the challenge of administering and delivering a range of workshops on energy, climate change and sustainability to a range of primary and secondary schools as an Environmental Education and Administration Officer. In addition to providing support and workshops to schools, the role will involve a significant amount of administrative work.
