Litter Less Campaign 2018/19 – Open for Applications

Only 8 spaces left- Deadline Extended to Friday 12th October – Last Chance to Apply-

Litter Less is an international litter awareness programme. It aims to change littering behaviours among young people around the world, to raise awareness of where our waste goes and to involve communities in reducing litter in their locality. By signing up to Litter Less you will receive additional support and resources from Green-Schools staff and through funding from The Wrigley Foundation we are delighted to offer participating schools a €250 grant towards carrying out a Community Action Day clean-up!

Who can take part?

The campaign is open to primary schools currently working on the Green-Schools Litter and Waste theme who have not yet been awarded their first flag – participation in the campaign will count towards your Green Flag application. There are a limited number of spaces available on the campaign, so sign up fast if you would like to take part! Schools who have previously participated in Litter Less are not eligible to apply.

What’s involved?

To be eligible for the funding grant, participating schools must commit to:

  • Holding a Community Action Day on the theme of Litter.
  • Measuring litter or waste in your school six times over the course of the project.
  • Providing updates and to submit a short (1 page) report at the end of the year.
