Traditionally, energy has been studied under the curriculum and managing of school energy use left to the caretakers and visiting engineers. Teachers and pupils have not, in the past, been at all concerned with energy management. However, separating these functions is no longer an option. Educational, environmental and financial pressures are focusing schools to integrate these aspects into a single whole-school policy for energy.
